Adaptive leadership: the challenge for the project manager in a complex world
Leadership is one of the most used and sometimes abused words: that’s why we feel we have to take care of it. We live in a complex world, characterized by constant changes, liquid society and business transformations, a strong power of relationships, higher degree of uncertainty, less confidence on our plans. We are submerged by new models, tools, sometimes taking lessons from history, sometimes trying disruptive approaches: this may leave us in a sense of confusion. This presentation wants to explore and compare different leadership models, to help the modern Project Manager develop his own authentic, trust-building leading style, able to obtain the best from the team adopting a human-centred approach. From agile to extreme, from servant to generative, how not to get lost, leveraging on team emerging behaviours and being focused on “leaving a mark”. Staying virtuously anchored to our good old basic PM values and practices.
